This is the first of four workshops that will guide participants through how to think through the formational aspects of digital technology and its potential impact on the physical, social, mental and spiritual dimensions of their lives.

These workshops are for young adults, parents, and grandparents alike. Whether you are an avid technology user yourself, a parent raising a child in this technology-forward world, or you want to better understand the world your grandkids are living in, there is something in these sessions for you.

In each session, we will do the following:

  • Dig into the context, realities, facts and traps related to the technology that you may not have considered, with a special emphasis on the formative aspects.
  • Discuss our own experiences, opinions and wisdom related to the technology
  • Work through some reflection activities to bring clarity on the role and influence of this technology in our own lives
  • Learn practical tips and strategies for "putting the technology in its place"
  • Commit to trying something (small or big) to address an issue that the technology presents in our lives
  • Pray for each other, our families, our church, our community, our country - as it relates to how this technology is shaping us all.

The first session is on Smartphones. Other sessions to come over the course of the next year will cover Social Media, Seductive Screens (everything from too much Netflix and YouTube, to video games, to "adult" content), and AI. No commitment to future workshops is required - come to one or all of the sessions as you feel led.
