DESCRIPTION:This is the first of four workshops that will guide participant
 s through how to think through the formational aspects of digital technolo
 gy and its potential impact on the physical\, social\, mental and spiritua
 l dimensions of their lives. \nThese workshops are for young adults\, par
 ents\, and grandparents alike. Whether you are an avid technology user you
 rself\, a parent raising a child in this technology-forward world\, or you
  want to better understand the world your grandkids are living in\, there 
 is something in these sessions for you.\nIn each session\, we will do the 
 following:\n\n\nDig into the context\, realities\, facts and traps related
  to the technology that you may not have considered\, with a special empha
 sis on the formative aspects.\n\nDiscuss our own experiences\, opinions an
 d wisdom related to the technology\n\nWork through some reflection activit
 ies to bring clarity on the role and influence of this technology in our o
 wn lives\nLearn practical tips and strategies for "putting the technology 
 in its place"\n\nCommit to trying something (small or big) to address an i
 ssue that the technology presents in our lives\n\nPray for each other\, ou
 r families\, our church\, our community\, our country - as it relates to h
 ow this technology is shaping us all.\n\nThe first session is on Smartphon
 es. Other sessions to come over the course of the next year will cover Soc
 ial Media\, Seductive Screens (everything from too much Netflix and YouTub
 e\, to video games\, to "adult" content)\, and AI. No commitment to future
  workshops is required - come to one or all of the sessions as you feel le
 d.
