If you are acquainted with the history of Oceanside Community Church, you may recall that the building we now call home has had several occupants over its lifetime, one of which was "Bird World". When the church took over the building and made the renovations required to house services, most of the decor from the previous occupants was removed, but several wall paintings and a large fountain structure in the main lobby were retained as a reminder of the history.

In the 23 years since, most of the wall paintings have been removed in conjunction with renovations and decor refreshes, but the fountain has remained a staple in the lobby. It has been used by families to document their growth by photograph, church kids have used it as a climbing structure, and we even have photo documentation of it being tested/used for water baptisms!

As we have continued to grow, we have done our best to continue to work with the existing available space and maximize its useability. But, we have now reached a point where future planning must become even more creative. Therefore, the bittersweet but inevitable decision was made to remove the fountain, the implementation of which was carried out yesterday.

It truly is the end of an era, but we look forward to the changes to come as we seek to better serve our community and continue to 'Pave the Way' for future generations to know Jesus through this church.
